First Baptist Church of Cayce
First Baptist Church of Cayce has served the local community since it was started by the Cayce family in 1912. With an aging congregation and after a few decades of decline, the remaining members of First Baptist Church of Cayce began praying and seeking God’s direction for a way to move forward. With a vision to continue serving the local community, and maintain a gospel-centered presence in Cayce, the transition team was led to consider a conversation a younger, more energetic congregation.
Mill City Church
Mill City Church started with eight people meeting around a dining room table in March of 2013. It has since grown to over 100 regularly meeting for Sunday Worship. Kid City, the children’s ministry, averages 35 kids on a Sunday. Throughout the week members meet in seven Community Groups scattered across our city from Downtown Columbia, to Red Bank, to Lexington. After years of meeting in a rented facility, Mill City Church was praying and seeking a permanent home to better serve as missionaries to their city.
Mill City Church of Cayce
After months of prayer and discussion the leadership teams from Mill City Church and First Baptist Church of Cayce proposed joining together as one church. On November 17, 2019 the active membership of First Baptist Church of Cayce voted to become one church with Mill City, inviting Mill City’s elders to lead the combined church’s vision and mission into the future.
